Seeking light

Description of the painting: Seeking light refers to every soul’s journey through life. As a tiny being living in the darkness of this vast universe, we always seek light to find our way to a better prospect.

The presence of many colors of Turkish lights in this painting symbolizes the diverse number of ways one can find the light and the book is the awareness and knowledge that can guide us through the darkness of unknown.

The artist has taken inspiration from a photo she captured in a bazaar area located in the beautiful, vibrant and rich in culture city of Istanbul, where thousands of these handmade colourful lights are creating a mesmerizing view.

The art is created when she experienced a dark era in her life along with other people around the world in the year of 2020 as every soul has been looking into its own darkness, searching for glimpse of the light of hope.

The artwork is created in surrealism style which is a connection between realism and incongruous imagery, used to convey the meaning of “Seeking Light” in an ideal, touchable experience for the audience.

The techniques used in this artwork are wet in wet, dry brush and layered to give a better colour mixture and realistic image.
